Donna Deakins serves as Vice President and Personal Lines Manager here at Deakins-Carroll Insurance Agency. She started at the agency in 1978 as a junior in high school, while dating her future husband, David, now President of Deakins-Carroll. David and Donna will be celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary this July. Although she didn’t originally plan on a career in insurance, she quickly discovered a passion for the industry and has built a successful career spanning more than 47 years! Donna credits her in-laws, Jud and Mickey, for teaching her the value of honest, relationship-based business and instilling a strong work ethic. She believes the agency's continued success is thanks to the dedication of its staff and emphasizes the importance of balancing business with family.
To Donna, family is everything. Her Mother, Father and siblings have always been her biggest cheerleaders! She worked hard to raise four amazing children all while working full time—two of whom, David Jr. and Deanna, now work in the agency. Her younger two, Delaney and Dalton, have pursued their own successful careers. Donna is a proud mother and grandmother to three grandchildren—Bryn, Cole, and Dillon. She currently works four days a week, reserving Fridays for her favorite role: Grandma. Outside of the office, Donna enjoys spending time with loved ones, entertaining, cooking, and traveling. She and David, now empty nesters, enjoy beach walks, sunset cruises, and time together exploring new places.
Throughout her career, Donna has remained committed to professional growth, completing numerous industry courses and serving on several insurance carrier advisory boards. She takes pride in educating clients, helping them make informed decisions about their coverage, and providing service rooted in care and trust. She values the close-knit Deakins-Carroll team and takes pride in the personalized service they’re able to provide. Her strong relationships with clients and colleagues reflect her genuine investment in the agency’s mission and her leadership, experience, and dedication make her an invaluable part of the Deakins-Carroll team.
